The story goes about a sage who one day was walking on the road and saw a man planting a carob tree. The sage asked the man, "How long do you figure will it take for this tree to bear fruit?" The man replied, "Seventy years." The sage then asked the man, "And do you think you will live another seventy years to enjoy fruits of this tree?" The man answered, "Perhaps not. However, when I was born into this world, I found many carob trees planted by my father and grandfather. Just as they planted trees for me, I am planting trees for my children and grandchildren so they will be able to enjoy the fruits of these trees."
Stories such as this exist in many traditions and cultures as the theme is universal – we should want to leave our children with what we received from our fathers, and hopefully a little more.
The effects of the Global Warming are felt world-wide – from the arctic to the Amazon. Call yourself a tree hugger or just environmentally-conscious; we all want to do our share in helping the environment, preserving our world, and reducing Global Warming. Using renewable energy resources such as Geothermal and Photovoltaic is a great way of achieving that goal: not only we use nature without abusing it; every bit of fossil fuel we do not use will make the world we leave for our children cleaner and healthier.
